As a racing sailor, my accomplishments include winning the 1998 El Toro Senior Gold North American Championships, 2nd place in the 2008 Ultimate 20 North American Championships, and many fleet, district and Pacific Coast awards spanning multiple classes and several decades.
I have raced in the Laser Class from 1974, owning six Lasers over the years and competing in the 2011 Laser Masters World Championships. My first boat was a Sunfish that I got in 1970, and I have many years of fun sailing in Thistles and Ultimate 20 sportboats.
In 2016, I completed a solo race from San Francisco Bay to Hanalei Bay, Kauai. I needed to learn sleeping, sail changes, a lot about navigation, provisioning and everything else having to do with the Cal 40 as an offshore boat.
